Objective: Design a 3D printed casing with a fidget mechanism and a kid-friendly design
Designed the main body and fidget mechanism with SOLIDWORKS
Designed a fully print-in-place bistable switch and compliant spring
Iterated through different designs to optimise leaf spring strength and switch
smoothness
Optimised design to click well despite the unconventional print orientation
Helped teammates to optimise design of lid's latch for 3D Printing
Objective: Organise workshops about different STEM skills to club members
Organised 4 workshops and co-organised 5 workshops ranging from mechanical, electrical and
software skills
Taught C++, Fusion 360 and Autodesk Inventor to 100+ participants in total
Developed skills in teaching, event management, and visual communication with PowerPoint
Objective: Design a 3D printed quick release adapter for a PLC to a DIN rail
Designed the latching mechanism to use a given sliding catch with
SOLIDWORKS
Utilised extension compliant mechanism to clamp sliding catch onto DIN rail
Iterated different springs (compression, tension, leaf) to optimise performance and assembly
ease
Applied design for additive manufacturing principles to allow for fully print-in-place
design
Objective: Model a Catapult Assembly in Inventor for Dynamic Simulation Testing
Extended on Year 1 Project to model and simulate catapult assembly in Autodesk
Inventor
Self-taught skills on making Inventor Assemblies and Dynamic Simulations
Learnt about Bolted Connections and Spur Gear Creator within Inventor Design Accelerator
Applied dynamic simulation results to optimise design of cataput and seat
Participated in Future Innovators (2021), Future Engineers (2022) and RoboMission (2024)
[FI] Worked on electronics to use pressure sensors and capacitors to create a model of an
energy producing walkway panel
[FE] Designed chassis with differential gear system for steering, to create an autonomous
driving vehicle
[RM] Designed main rack and pinion manipulator to stack game pieces into towers to complete
missions
Awarded Judges' Commendation Award in 2022 FE, 7th place in 2024 RM Finals
Singaporean televised competition about STEM communication
Tasked to use 3D-Pens to create a stable structure under swaying, and to explain the
methodology
Explained about structure stability, shape rigidity, design iterations and additive
manufacturing
Previous challenges involved designing projectiles, explaining scientific phenomena to
children, and programming
Achieved Semi-finalist position, 12th out of 40 teams
